At John O'Gaunt we run a number of OPEN Competitions throughout the Golfing Year.
- Three Seniors' Opens, two on the same day in early June, with an Individual Scratch Overall and Net in the morning and Net in the afternoon, for various age categories. The other is a Four Ball Better Ball pairs Competition played in August.
- A Mixed Greensome the last weekend of August.
- A Ladies Open, Individual in the morning and a Foursomes in the afternoon in late August.
- Boys and Girls Open (Both Scratch and Net winners) - Won by Nick Faldo in 1973.
