At John O'Gaunt we run a number of OPEN Competitions throughout the Golfing Year.
- Peak Production Trophy - 36 hole scratch medal, teams of 3, individual handicap limit of 6. Individual and team prizes.
- Two Seniors Opens, one in early June, with an Individual Scratch Overall and Net for various age categories. The other is a Four Ball Better Ball pairs Competition played in August.
- A Mixed Greensome the last weekend of August.
- A Ladies Open, 4BBB in the morning and a Greensomes in the afternoon in late August.
- Boys and Girls Open (Both Scratch and Net winners) - Won by Nick Faldo in 1973.
