If you would like to Join as a social or playing member at John O'Gaunt Golf Club you can fill out one of our membership forms and return it to General Manager Gordon Macleod either by email:
manager@joggc.co.uk or you can drop it off at the club in person. Once we receive your form, you will be invited to one of our New Member Induction Days to learn more and meet our team.
Please note: there is currently a waiting list for 7-Day and Youth Membership.

Visit the John O'Gaunt website and go to My Golf > Preferences. There you'll find a guide on how to link the IGMember app to your account, and how to tailor your experience using the Preferences section.
John O'Gaunt operates a no tee-time booking system. If you’d like to play, please call the Pro Shop at 01767 263421, and they’ll advise on availability for your preferred date. On the day of your round, please visit the Pro Shop to pay your green fee and receive your bag tag.
Society days can be arranged by contacting Golf Operations Manger Nigel Tarn at golf@joggc.co.uk
You can check course closures and tee bookings via the website under My Golf > View Tee Bookings, or through the IG Member app under Tee Times.
For long-term planning, refer to the Club Diary — but always double-check Tee Bookings to confirm the week of.
7. How do I work out my Handicap Indices for each Course?
There are handicap tables on the IG member app under handicap record > calculator. You can also use the tables below to calculate playing handicap.
For golf handicapping information or the mixed tee calculator for match play competitions visit Golf Competitions & Handicapping on the Information drop bar of the club website.
Members can stay updated by visiting the What’s On page on our website for upcoming events at the Club. Tickets can be purchased online for most events.
Yes — non-members and members' guests are welcome in the Clubhouse for food, drinks, and to enjoy our grand terrace on warmer days.

Our practice facilities — including the brand new Short Game Area and Warm-Up Range — are open only to golfing members.
Players CDH numbers can be found on the club website under My Golf > Handicap Record.
If you have not been awarded a CDH number yet or it is not showing on your Handicap Record please contact Golf Operations Manager Nigel Tarn at golf@joggc.co.uk to be set up on England Golf.
General play scores can be entered either on the IG member app, the My England Golf app or through a physical handicap card.
IG app - Go to Handicap record then the list icon in the top right corner. Intent must be declared before the round by beginning scoring. Scores must be agreed and finalised by playing partners.
My EG app - Go to scorecards then create a scorecard. Intent must be declared before the round by beginning scoring. Scores must be agreed and finalised by playing partners.
Physical Card - To submit a physical card for handicapping please declare intent at the proshop, then submit your card after the round in the wooden boxes outside the changing rooms.
Yes – both courses have been assessed for course and slope ratings from all three tees (red, yellow, and white) for both men and women. The scorecards in the pro shop include the relevant par and slope rating information for men and women to play from any tee set they prefer.
