May 1st saw John O'Gaunt host the Inter-club girls' competition, with visitors from seven other clubs across four counties taking part. Three clubs were making their debut and they took the top three places. Enfield were first on 72 points, with Letchworth edging out Moor Park for second after both had finished on 68. John O'Gaunt were 4th but had the satisfaction of Emma Brown's 37 points being the best individual score. This earned Emma a cut to 27 handicap.
This reduction did not hamper Emma in the slightest, as she travelled to Luton Hoo on May 2nd and scored 39 points to win the Bedfordshire Schools' Handicap Championship in a field of 10 girls.
